Exploring the Flitch Way
Went out for a blast down the Flitch Way at the weekend, it is our local disused railway line. It is now a pleasant bridleway which cyclists and walkers share in harmony, and remains relatively dry all year round. Anyway as everyone bailed on the Sunday morning ride it seemed like a good time to take the camera out and get in some practice.
The good thing about the Flitch is that it goes from Braintree to Stanstead and has lots of old bridges, an old station (now a cafe which does a mean bacon buttie) and links to a few other rides.
The weather was ok so packed the new Camera (Nikon D3000) and had a good ride from picking up the Flitch at Braintree and cycling half its length to Great Dunmow.
Planning to get a night ride in soon to get some night shots with the bikes, Lee has just built up a rather nice Intense Spider FRO so will see how that handles.
Also it was a good session to really motor as I was on my own so put the foot down and covered 30 miles in just over two hours even with the camera stops.
Looking forward to the Mountain biking photography course with Great Rock and Benji Haworth in April to improve my skills and get some action shots.P.S. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my Yeti… Don’t think I needed to keep the drop seat post on but we had been in Wales the weekend before.
